Temporary closure due to COVID-19 restrictions

24 March 2020

Dear Guests and Friends of Bogong Village,

It is with regret that we announce the village has been closed temporarily to guests for short term holiday accommodation.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has recommended against all ‘non-essential’ domestic travel as part of a range of measures to limit the spread of coronavirus (COVID -19) in Australia. He said essential travel is mainly for work-related activities. As a result, the short-term holiday accommodation business is currently closed for the months of April and May and will remain closed while this travel advisory is in place.

The Alpine Shire Council is urging all visitors in the area to return home immediately. And those who intend to come are asked to postpone their trip until the threat of COVID -19 is reduced. https://mailchi.mp/alpineshire/alpine-shire-council-information-for-businesses-regarding-covid-19?e=1cbc7e1254

We hope to open for a ski season but that will depend on how this situation evolves.  We will keep you advised as soon as we have a clear idea of whether this will be possible.

Times are challenging for all of us. It is important we follow government advice regarding COVID-19 as part of the effort to limit the spread of the disease and keep our community safe.  For further information visit https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/victorian-public-coronavirus-disease-covid-19

Warm Regards

Everyone at Bogong Village
